We can make sure to constantly remind people how important it is to fight for a sustainable future.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waterwise Community Identify a Local Freshwater Hope Spot using the Wyland Foundation Google Earth Portal
What lakes, rivers, streams, or coastlines have inspired you? How have they changed over the years? What can be done to ensure they remain healthy and vital for the future?

I grew up on the banks of the Columbia River and I identify strongly with it --it's a part of who I am. McNary Dam has protected watershed that we always learned about during earth day. The salmon ladders and the fisheries are pretty rad too, we should continue to invest in protecting Columbia River salmon from extinction
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waterwise Community Take the Wyland National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation
Water is a free resource, but what are the steps needed to get water to your home? What other resources are needed to ensure you have access to water? Energy? Infrastructure? What are some of the ways smart water use helps the national economy?

    Anabel Moreno 4/28/2021 1:56 PM
Okay so first of all, water isn't a free resource. Nothing is free in life. Plus if it was free, I wouldn't get angry calls from people complaining about the increase in their water bill...
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waterwise Home Eat A Little Less Meat
How could you "flip" some of your favorite meals to increase vegetables, beans, and grains and reduce meat protein?

    Anabel Moreno 4/28/2021 1:54 PM
One thing I really like to do is use squash in my gluten free (lentil-based) lasagna instead of beef --its nutritious and delicious!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waterwise Home Conserve Toilet Water
What would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?

A sustainable water future starts with a sustainability mindset --we gotta start thinking like Hannafords and do zero food waster everywhere!
